Profile

I did my bachelor´s degrees in History and Business Administration at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam (graduated 2022 and 2023) and found my way to the Universities of Glasgow, Uppsala and Göttingen for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master´s degree in Global Markets, Local Creativities, with a focus in Global Political Economy and Economic History. I came to the Chair of Social and Economic History at the Humboldt Univeristy in December 2025 as a Research Assistant (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) whilst pursuing my Ph.D.

My previous research focused on colonial taxation in the former Dutch Empire, in particular in Curacao and Indonesia. More broader research interests revolve around global political economy and economic history, where I approach topics using both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
