He is currently academic coordinator of the DFG-Priority Research Program "Experience & Expectation. Historical Foundations of Economic Behaviour" at the Humboldt University of Berlin. He previously worked at worked at the Universities of Bielefeld, Bochum and Göttingen and at German Historical Institute, Washington DC. He received his Ph.D. from Bochum University in 2003 and his habilitation (second book) at Goettingen University in 2012.
Research Interests
Ingo Köhler is an economic and business historian, whose research covers topics like the history of consumption, marketing and market research, failures and resilience in business history, the history of German elites and family businesses as well as the development of global economies and bankers and the Aryanization of private banks. His latest research compared the businesses market research and their expectations in West Germany and the US after 1945.
