Profile

Jonathan Krautter works on the project "Industrial Policy in Japan during the Postwar Boom. Business, Government and International Technology Transfer 1955-1973 (DFG)." In addition, he is a researcher in the project "Sky-High expectations - how politics, crisis, and knowledge transfer shaped the multinational airline Air Afrique, 1961-1990" (DFG SPP 1859) since June 2022. From 2017 to 2018, he was a Ph.D. Fellow at the German Institute for Japanese Studies in Tokyo. He holds an M.A. in Modern History from the University of Jena and a B.A. in History and East Asian Studies from the University of Heidelberg. Between 2011 and 2012, he also studied Economics at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo.
