Research

History Education is primarily concerned with the theoretical and practical clarification of the possibilities and limits regarding the purposeful communication of historical facts, processes, and structures primarily in the school and extracurricular fields. It provides didactically founded action concepts and legitimation arguments and deals primarily with prerequisites, conditions, objectives, contents, teaching and learning methods, teaching aids and learning materials.

The didactics of history therefore combines the field of historical science with selected educational, anthropological, psychological, and sociological questions, methods and findings – including the everyday life and experiences of learners.
